TO MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE SUCCESSFUL YOU NEED TO PLAN YOUR TRIP.

Think about what you want from studying abroad, by reading our guide and with the help of Google, you can make the right decision.

Here is some Guide for a Successful Study Abroad.

Where do you want to Study? 

Firstly, decide on a country that interests you. If it is the UK, you need to decide on the location, City, Sea or Countryside and think about what you want from the trip.

The UK offers so many locations to suit so many tastes.

Brighton has the History of the Royal Pavilion with a ‘London by the Sea’ vibe. It is also host to a large number of International students, so come and enjoy a summer homestay programs on the South Coast.  Why not think about Oxford and Cambridge, which are old University towns, so mix culture with the craziness of student life. Do you enjoy the countryside? Then why not look at studying close to the New Forest Country Park. This is where the horses and ponies roam free and you will find lots of lovely hiking paths as well as being close to Southampton and Bournemouth.  Then of course there is London which offers a real multicultural experience with its historic buildings, museums, markets and tourist attractions; a real busy and bustling Capital City.

You need to search courses that are on offer in your chosen area to see if there is an international English School that has a course that suits you.  You need to balance the international study with the whole study abroad experience. 

Do you want to stay for 1 week or 1 year?  Or somewhere in between?

Why do you want to improve your English? Is it for further Education or for a Job in an English Company.

You need to do your homework. Search the internet.

Where is the school?  Who attends the school? 

Is it open to all international students?

Do they offer English Summer School Programmes

Do they offer classroom teaching or a homestay 1-2-1 environment? 

Do they offer Homestay English teaching?

Do you want to stay in a host family or board in a school?

Is the level of Education Correct?

Do they offer the correct level of teaching to improve your English?

Are the hours of lessons verses the excursions what you are expecting?

Does the course offer the correct balance for the whole study abroad programme?

Would like to see Castles, Historic Buildings and Gardens? If so Sussex offers all of these, with Arundel Castle, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton and the South Downs National Park on your door step.

Cycling Brighton’s seafront, mountain biking the South Downs Way or Kayaking on the River Adur.

Would you like free time to explore on your own or with new found friends?

Time out to jump on a train or bus and visit other Cities? 

Do you want your weekends free for independent travelling?

Would you take advantage of short flights to European Cities?

2 hours and you are in Barcelona, Paris or Lisbon. Or just a weekend in London, Bath, Edinburgh or Manchester.

What are some popular British Destinations for Students?

Britain is home to some of the worlds’ most interesting destinations and is a place of outstanding historical and cultural significance. Every year millions of people travel to see some of these iconic places and as a homestay student you’ll be able to experience and visit many of these places on your stay. 

1. London

London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations.

 

2. Brighton

Brighton’s location has made it a popular destination for tourists, renowned for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene. Brighton attracted 7.5 million day visitors in 2015/16 and 4.9 million overnight visitors and is the most popular seaside destination in the UK for overseas tourists. Brighton has also been called the UK’s “hippest city”, and “the happiest place to live in the UK”.

 

3. Cornwall

Cornwall is on England’s rugged southwestern. It forms a peninsula encompassing wild moorland and hundreds of sandy beaches, culminating at the promontory Land’s End. The south coast, dubbed the Cornish Riviera, is home to picturesque harbour villages such as Fowey and Falmouth. The north coast is lined with towering cliffs and seaside resorts like Newquay, known for surfing.
